Curtis Lee Parks, 47, of Sioux City, IA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 18, 2020 in Sioux City.
Curtis, the son of Ray Lee and Brenda Parks, was born Wednesday, November 1, 1972 in Silsbee, TX. Curtis’ early years were spent in Beaumont, TX. He attended school in Beaumont and played basketball and football in junior high at James Bowie. During his high school years, Curtis moved to Sioux City to live with his sister, Vanessa. Curtis attended and graduated from North High School in Sioux City.
Curtis worked as a chef for most of his adult life. He worked at the Holiday Inn, Perkins, and Marina Inn where he was loved by many with his cheerful personality.
Curtis cherished spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards and watching movies with them. A family tradition was spending Thanksgiving together and playing board games.
Curtis is survived by his siblings: Vanessa Johnson of Omaha, NE, Michael & Grace Evans of Omaha, Timothy Evans of Sioux City, Kimberly & Thierry Trenou of Omaha, Angela Evans of Omaha and Dr. Yolanda & Covell Crosby of Dallas, TX; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two aunts: Kathleen Parks and Mary Catherine Parks; and one uncle, Charles Ray Parks.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. The family requests all attendees to wear a mask at the funeral home.
