Constance “Connie” Louise Kouris, 98, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on June 4, 2026.
Connie was born on November 29, 1927, in Plymouth County, Iowa to Walter and Wanda Pence. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident graduating from Central High School in 1946 and later attending Morningside College.
On August 15, 1948, she married the love of her life, Harry Kouris. They shared 71 wonderful years of marriage before Harry’s passing.
Connie began her career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company where she worked until retirement. Following retirement, she continued working as a secretary in the Benson Building office. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was active in the Daughters of Penelope and the Northwestern Bell Pioneers.
Connie was an avid reader, exceptional cook and enthusiastic duplicate bridge player, but she found her greatest happiness gathering her family around the table for holiday dinners and celebrations. Her warmth, generosity and devotion to family created memories that will be cherished for generations.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry; her son Dean; great-granddaughter, Sereada; sisters, Opal and Maribel; and brother Clay.
She is survived by her son, Drew Kouris and his wife, Mary; granddaughter, Jeena and her husband, Don; and great-grandchildren, Rohen and Olivia. Her daughter, Stacy Eremchuk and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Rita, Antoinette and Dale; great-grandchildren, Darell and his wife, Leah, Kayla, Kyra and Xander; and great-great-grandson, Dio. Her daughter, Katie Albers and her husband, Brad; grandson, Seth and his wife, Courtney; and great-grandchildren, Daisy and Marigold. Her daughter-in-law, Anita Kouris; granddaughter, Whitney and her husband, Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kal and Thea.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on June 12. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the funeral following at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a mercy meal at the church.

Connie’s deep love for her family, her unwavering faith and her commitment to her community will remain an enduring legacy. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
