Connie Mae Bock

May 30, 1953 — April 15, 2024

Glendale, AZ

Connie Mae Bock (Adams), 70, of Glendale, AZ, and formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 in Sioux City. She courageously fought a long battle with cancer. She was a true warrior. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Connie was born May 30, 1953, in Sioux City, IA, to Kenneth R. Adams, Sr. and Audrey L. Adams (Grillet). She attended St. Boniface Catholic School in Sioux City and graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1971.

She met the love of her life in 1976, Robert L. Bock. They married in 1980 and raised two daughters, Brandee (Dan) Happe and Jessica (Scott) Anderson. During their 43 years of marriage, in addition to raising two girls, she kept active with bowling, volleyball and golf league and later traveled near and far to see friends and family, especially her grandchildren for many of their events and milestones. She cherished all four of her grandchildren, Madilyn, Emmalyn, Breylen, and Brycen. They completed her in all ways possible.

Connie followed in her mother’s footsteps with a love of playing cards, bowling, and bingo. She bowled for several years in leagues with Bob, her siblings, and an all-woman’s team. The women were endearingly called “The Bowling Girls” and they traveled to countless destinations together, even when not bowling in a tournament. Above all, bingo was her lifelong passion!

So many friends have been there over her lifetime and especially during her battle with Cancer, including her childhood friend since the fourth grade, Ava (Larry) Swanberg (Smick).

Her occupation was in computer operations at IBP for many years and she finished her career as a computer operation technician with the City of Sioux City. She retired from the City of Sioux City in 2012, when she and Bob moved to Glendale, AZ for warmer weather to enjoy their retirement years.

Connie and Bob had countless friends and family, leaving life without much of a dull moment. She had a laugh that was all her own and you couldn’t help but laugh too! She was extremely close to her siblings, Kenneth Jr. (Janell) Adams, Jeannie (Loren) Francis and adored all her nieces and nephews. The sibling bond and adoration each of them have for one another is immeasurable.

In life she was strong in her beliefs and loved her family fiercely. She gave Cancer a good fight. Her loss will be felt by many, and she will be missed beyond words. Connie was preceded in death by her parents Audrey and Kenneth Adams, Sr.
