Connie A. Bledsoe, 71, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Holy Spirit Nursing Home. Private family graveside services for Connie have taken place. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel assisted with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Connie was born on July 29, 1952, in Sioux City to Raymond and Nora (Hall) Bledsoe. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1970. She went on to graduate from the University of South Dakota in 1974 with a degree in teaching. Connie taught both in Soldier, Iowa, and in Sioux City at St. Boniface School.
She was a longtime attendee of Elk Point Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Hailey. In her free time, Connie enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music, volunteering at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center, and playing Scrabble. While attending USD she loved being a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and performing with the Strollers. Connie was chosen Outstanding Senior Woman and elected to the Who’s Who Publication. Connie will be lovingly remembered for her big heart and how she always cared for others in her life, as well as her dogs.
She is survived by her sister, Sally Burr (Rollie) of Sioux City; brother, Larry Bledsoe of Sioux City; sister-in-law Brandi Bledsoe of North Sioux City, SD, nieces: Staci Page (Dave) of Wynstone, SD, and Stephanie Fritz (Eric) of Tea, SD; nephew, Larry Bledsoe, Jr. (Denise) of Homer, NE; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Van Dyke and her husband, Harry; father, Raymond Bledsoe and his wife, Mary Lou; brother, Leslie Bledsoe and his wife Betty; and brother, Ronnie Bledsoe.
