Coleen L. Loffswold, 76 of Sioux City passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2026 with a luncheon to follow at Morningside Lutheran Church. Visitation begins at 10:00 A.M. with family present. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to the family for future designation in her name.
Coleen was born the daughter of Morris and Louise (Burgess) Larson on October 19, 1949, in Onawa, Iowa. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1968. On September 13,1968 she married the love of her life, Jeff Loffswold in Elk Point, South Dakota. She took pride in working for Northwestern Bell Telephone and as a Librarian for the Sioux City Community School District serving Longfellow and Spaulding Elementary Schools.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed challenges like word searches and crosswords and watching high school sports of all kinds. She stayed connected with her “Leeds Ladies” with monthly lunches and visits as well as golf outings with church friends.
Coleen loved her family. They cherish their fishing memories on the lakes of Minnesota, Christmas seasons spent together and already miss her wonderful baking. She enjoyed going to all her sons’ sporting activities growing up and later in life, keeping up with her grandchildren.
Coleen is survived by her husband, Jeff; sons, Chris (Kim) Loffswold and Corey (Kristen) Loffswold; grandchildren, Kya Loffswold, Caleb Loffswold, Sophie Loffswold, Tate Loffswold, and Elsa Loffswold; siblings, Steve (Maureen) Larson, Nancy Phillips, Paula (Dan) Thomsen, Ken Larson, and Scott (Julie) Larson; sister- in- law, Becky Larson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry and Dave; brother- in law, Dane Phillips; as well as in-laws, Spud and Evy Loffswold.
