Clyde J. Robinson, Jr.

Clyde J. Robinson, Jr., 88 of Merrill passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 5, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Clyde was born the son of Clyde J. Robinson, Sr. and Coletta Gardner on December 27, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa. His family moved to Dunlap, Iowa where he graduated from high school and met Beverly Buter. They were married November 16, 1956. They made their home in Merrill, Iowa for over 60 years.

He was office manager at Missouri Valley Steel for about 20 years. He then owned and operated The Steak Block Restaurant in Sioux City before becoming a car salesman at Knoepfler Chevrolet. Clyde was a hard worker. He always kept at least one part-time job to help support his large family.

Clyde enjoyed playing golf, doodling, and woodworking. He was also an old school country music fan.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Beverly Robinson; children, Julie Van Evera, Danny Robinson, Lori Shannon, Jeff (Janet) Robinson, and Alan Robinson; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and brothers, Bill (Jan) Robinson and Jim (Sandy) Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Robinson; and son-in-law, Tim Shannon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice or Mitchell Hospice House.
