Clarabelle Dorothy Strickland

Clarabelle Dorothy Strickland 90 of Sioux City, passed away at Westwood Specialty Care Nursing Home in Sioux City, Iowa on Saturday, September 14, 2024. There is no memorial service planned. Burial will take place later at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Sioux City.

Clarabelle was born on April 4, 1934 in Dakota County Nebraska to Dona Comeau and Evaline Robbins Comeau.

In 1952 she married Robert Eugene Madsen, and to this union five children were born, Christopher, Robert Jr, Evelyne, Larry, and Dorra Lynn. Robert passed away in 1987.

She married James Earl Smith Sr. in 1962. He passed away in 1989. She married John Strickland in 1987. John passed away in 2000.

For many years Clarabelle was the “lunch lady” at West Middle School, in Sioux City.

In addition to her husband, John, Clarabelle is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Evelyne, brothers Vincent, Vinton, and sister Vivian. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
