Clara Virginia Goss

Clara Virginia Goss, 97 of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at the Embassy Rehab and Care Center. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Todd Schlitter officiating. Fellowship and refreshments will follow. A graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5th.

Virginia was born on July 30, 1928 in Lawton, Iowa to Frank and Sallie Flewelling. She received her education, and graduated from, Moville High School before her marriage to Jesse Charles Goss on August 11, 1946 in Sloan, Iowa.

Virginia worked with her husband in the shoe repair business for many years. She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church in Sioux City.

Virginia is survived by her son Darrell (Julie) Goss of Kenosha, Wisconsin, daughter Patricia (Paul) Lundberg of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, son Danny (Christine) Goss of Sioux City, Iowa, and son Doyle (Beverly) Goss of Brookings, South Dakota; and sister Irene Clause of Moville, Iowa; grandchildren Melissa Wakeley, Heather Kuphal, Molly Reynoldson, Dan Goss, Ted Goss, Amanda Chiccarelli, Tate Lundberg, Darlyne Steinweg, and Luis Rodriguez; 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband J.C. Goss in November of 2003, daughter Peggy L. Goss, siblings Harvey Flewelling, William Flewelling, Audrey Wright, Warren Flewelling, Mildred Wright, Thomas Flewelling, and Marion Flewelling, her granddaughters Mary McInnis and Peggy Lea Goss, and her loyal companion “Buddy”
