Cheryl Ann Strong

Cheryl Ann Strong, 79 of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.  Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with family present.  Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City.  

Cheryl was born the daughter of Thomas and Selma (Cornelius) Faith on June 9, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She graduated from Central High School in 1962.  Cheryl married LeRoy Strong on July 16, 1962 in Dakota City.  To this union came three children.  They later divorced.  Cheryl made her home in Sioux City until moving to South Sioux City in 1972.  She was a sheet metal worker at Fabricators, Inc. for many years, and was a member of the Sheet Metal Worker’s Union #3. Cheryl waitressed throughout her lifetime as well, with the Paddock and Strikers being two of the most notable locations.

Cheryl enjoyed going to Sturgis and gambling in her younger years.  But her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Tom Stanfield, Jennifer& Terry Bouchal, Judy & John Rivers, and Hospice of Siouxland for their wonderful care of Cheryl.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Randy (Tammie) Strong of Hubbard, Cindy (Dave) Bride of Sioux City, and Jodi (Joe) Stoos of Hubbard; siblings, Jim (Barb) Faith, Judy (John) Rivers, and Jack (Jeanne) Faith; grandchildren, Kaleb Bride, Kyle (Becca) Strong, and Ashley (Josh) Fuchser; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gary, Tommy, and Janice; nephew, Mike; and great-nephew, Bradley.
