Charles "Charlie" E. Majors

Charles “Charlie” E. Majors, 93, of Houston, TX, passed away July 25, 2022 in Carefree, AZ. A graveside service will be held, August 1, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City. There will be a celebration of life at South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront following the graveside. 

Charlie was born March 6, 1929 to Robert and Sadie (Smith) Majors in Haxtun, CO. He was in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949. Charlie graduated from the University of Colorado in 1953 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. During his time in college, he met the love of his life, forever best friend and soulmate, Harriet Ann Voss. They were married on June 27, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He lost his beloved Harriet July 12, 2010.

During their wonderful life together, they moved 27 times back and forth across the country. Charlie and Harriet moved to Midland, TX in 1953 with Shell Oil Company. Charlie had a long, outstanding career as an E&P Accountant. He retired from Shell in 1988 to see the world. They settled in Houston, TX in 1973. This is where they called home.

Charlie was an active member of Bridgebuilders at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston. He loved his devoted friends and the Lord. He joined Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity in college, and dedicated himself to multiple President and officer positions for his children’s school organizations and local communities.

Charlie was very passionate about what he loved. He was a strong man of faith and kept God near to his heart. He loved to travel and all things with Harriet and his entire family. He was so proud of his two children and their beloved spouses, his four grandsons and their extraordinary wives, and his two amazing great-grandchildren. Charlie thrived taking care of the family farms in Iowa. His love of the land was embraced by the dedicated families who helped him sustain the legacy. Being of Service, he loved the United States of America and was politically devoted to Making America Great Again!

He is survived by his son Ronald “Randy” Majors and his wife Debbie of Scottsdale, AZ, his daughter Jay Bartley and her husband Steve of Aledo, TX. His 4 grandchildren Draegen Majors and wife Caroline of Dallas, TX, Karsten Majors and his wife Taylor of Edmond, OK. Hayden Bartley and his wife Chelsea of Tomball, TX, Preston Bartley and his wife Taylor of Fort Worth, TX. His 2 great grandchildren Reed Majors and Charley Majors. His sister Betty Wolpert, his brother Clyde Majors and his wife Barbara. Several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Majors and his parents Robert and Sadie Majors.
