Chad was born on October 12th, 1971, in Sioux City, IA, to Betty and Greg Fischer. He attended St. Boniface grade school and was a graduate of Heelan High School. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College with a degree in police science.
Chad married his high school sweetheart, Brenda in 1992. Together they had three children, Michael, Molly and Mitchell. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his wife Brenda, children, and grandchildren.
After earning a degree in police science Chad proceeded with the interview process for police officer positions. He was offered a job as a police officer in Yankton, SD. However, he did not want to uproot his family by moving to Yankton. Therefore, he made the decision to change career paths and began his construction company out of his home, truck and trailer.
He began his construction company called Chad Fischer Construction in 1997. He worked throughout the tri-state area doing residential remodels. He expanded his company in 2010 with the purchase of MBS (Metal Building Systems) and Butler Building dealership, renaming his company to CFC/MBS construction. He moved his company from his garage into an office and workshop setting. His workshop featured building specialty cabinetry and fireplaces. He then specialized in building and remodeling commercial buildings and Butler buildings in addition to home builds and remodels. Chad made a significant impact around the tri-state area. A few of his major accomplishments include building and updating gas stations, restaurants, grocery store remodels and updates, surgery center updates, new build housing and construction of Metal Butler buildings in the tri-state area.
Chad has had a love of racing motocross since his teenage years. He had no fear on the racetrack, often taking first place or placing within the top three spots. He shared his love of motocross with his three children, teaching them the ropes on how to ride and how to maintain their motorcycles. He spent countless hours coaching, standing at the starting gate with them, and running around the track to help pick up their bikes when they crashed.
Motocross became a family event for many years. In the most recent years, Chad proudly saw how his teaching of motorcycle maintenance and knowledge carried on through his son Michael’s love of re-building motorcycles. Chad and Brenda traveled with Michael, Morgan and Mitchell to California to have his bike builds tested by professional motocross racers, professionally photographed and published on the Racer X Magazine’s website. Chad was known for wearing a yellow T-Shirt at the races so his family could always find him at the starting gate and on the track. Chad and his family traveled to many races over the years in their toy hauler and camped at the racetracks. He enjoyed racing, attending and watching pro races, and working on motorcycles. He not only shared a love of motocross with Michael, but also shared the same birthday.
Chad also spent many hours with Mitchell decorating their home for Christmas and entering it in the make a wish lighting contest. Together they braved the cold and created a light show, syncing it to Christmas music which earned second and third place awards two years in a row for their hard work. He also spent countless hours sitting on bleachers and traveling to cheer on his daughter, Molly, at her basketball games from her preschool years all the way through college. He was so proud of her hustle, determination, leadership and energy on the court. He encouraged and supported Molly by sponsoring her teams and hosting team cookouts out of their toy hauler. Chad was truly proud and loved all three of his children.
Chad has been an avid Buccaneers fan since he was a kid. He enjoyed watching and rooting for the Bucs. Chad and Brenda most recently toured the Buccaneers stadium on a trip to Tampa Bay for their 30th wedding anniversary. Chad was always thinking of Brenda from the moment he stole her Twinkies out of her lunch in high school. He often brought lunch to her at work, surprised her with flowers just because, and always remembered birthdays and anniversaries with jewelry. Chad and Brenda enjoyed the small moments of being together, traveling, attending concerts, family card nights and hosting family and friends for barbeques and pool parties. Chad enjoyed cooking and grilling and was known for his spicy hot wings and making sure everyone had plenty to eat. Chad had a kind and giving heart. He most recently took his best friend Eddie, who had his own health battles, on a boys motocross trip to California.
Chad truly loved and enjoyed his family moments. He was especially excited and most proud to become a ‘grampie.’
Chad is survived by his loving wife Brenda and their three children - Michael (Morgan) Fischer, Molly (Taylor) Arment, and Mitchell Fischer. Four grandchildren - Mila and Merrick Fischer, Axel and Archer Arment, and his “favorite” mother-in-law Johanna Koob.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents - Betty and Greg Fischer, grandparents - Alva and Joe Fischer, Mary and Ralf Harrison, father-in-law - Kenneth Koob, niece - Isabell Koob and dearest friend - Eddie Thompson.
