Cecile P. Krier, 101, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, 20 days away from her 102nd birthday, passed away surrounded by her family. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Cecile was born on May 12, 1921 in Quimby, IA to Chris and Blanche (Powell) Conley. Cecile married Martin P. Krier on July 9, 1938. They were married for 65 years. She worked at Zenith (formerly Wincharger) and at the Sioux City Community School District as a bus aide for many years before retiring in her 80’s. Cecile loved to cook, clean, and go camping with her family and friends. In her later years, she would stay busy playing on her IPAD. She liked to stay in touch with her family through Facebook and Facetime. She also liked playing games like solitaire, mahjong and word search puzzles that were her hobby. Her mind was very sharp! She sure enjoyed having people stop by to visit. Mom was known for RED being her favorite color!
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Ken Krier, McCook Lake, SD, Randy (Nancy) Krier, Lubbock, TX, Gloria Johnson, Sgt. Bluff, IA, Rick (Judy) Krier, Sioux City, IA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Krier; son, Dennis Krier; granddaughter, Konnie Krier; sisters: Opal Cowan and Betty Camarigg; and daughters-in-law: Marge and Mary Krier.
