Carol J (Homer) Stevens, 87, passed away August 29, 2025, at MercyOne hospital.
A Celebration of Her Life will be Saturday September 13, 2025, at Riverside Park, shelter #4, from 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
She was born June 21, 1938, in Stevens SD. The daughter of Elmer L. Homer and Elsie V. (Wynn) Homer. She married Walter (Ace) Marston in 1953, that marriage was dissolved in 1957. She married Edward G. Goodwin in 1958, he passed away in 1987. She married Thomas L. Stevens in 1997 until he passed away in 2019.
Carol loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She was a schoolbus driver for 34 years with Sacred Heart Elementary and Dakota Valley Schools. She loved fishing and camping with her family. Carol loved playing cribbage, crocheting and take-away bingo. She never met a stranger who didn't become a friend. Going shopping with her meant stopping several times to talk to people she knew.
She is survived by daughters, Julia A. Goodwin (James Irwin), Myra J. Baugartner, Tessie L. Goodwin, sons Todd E. Goodwin & Loretta (Hulit) Goodwin and Toby & Beth (Mapes) Goodwin, son-in-law Mark Harveston, step-sons Jamie Stevens, Jason Stevens and Scott Stevens, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Even though she had six children of her own, there were many that called her Mom or Grandma.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her sister Joyce M. Thompson, brother Bruce E. Homer, daughter Valerie E. Goodwin, niece Vicki MacCallister and grand nephew Bradly Homer.
