Carol J. (Lambert) Panaggio, 75 of Sioux City passed away Monday, August 4, 2025. Abiding by her wishes, cremation will take place. There will be a Celebration of Life for Carol at a later date.
Carol was born the daughter of Peter and Dorothy (Weinhart) Gammon on December 16, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended Heelan High School and later completed nursing school at St. Joseph School of Nursing. Carol married Willie Lambert. To this union two daughters were born.
Carol was a coronary nurse in the ICU and then spent time in Arizona, Connecticut, and Georgia where she worked largely as an operating room nurse. She moved back to Sioux City to be closer to family.
Carol loved music, movies, history, reading, and playing cribbage with her family. During her retirement she became the best “dog nanny” to her “grand dogs”, who she loved to spoil. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling with her friends, crochet, and traveling.
Carol loved her daughters and grandchildren with all her heart. She was a kind, caring, hard working mother. She raised her daughters alone during very difficult times. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Molly (Clayton) Gullick and Susie (Dave) McArthur; sisters, Susanne Grover, Margaret (Steve) Saltzgiver, Helen Davidson, Mary (Mike) Belew, and Kathy (Chester) Gilley; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother in childhood, Joseph; and brothers-in-law, Jerry, Tommy, and Jimmy.
