Carol Anna Marmo, 99, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away peacefully with her children by her side on November 25, 2023, of natural causes.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska with Reverend Ronald Benson of Crete, Nebraska officiating.  Burial will follow at the Dakota City Cemetery.  Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to services.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com  In lieu of flowers, donations made will be to the charitable choice of the family.

Carol was born on January 6,1924 to Ervin and Marie (Lischke) Tebben in South Sioux City, Nebraska. After Carol graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1942, she went on to study and graduated from the National Business College in Sioux City, Iowa.

She married childhood sweetheart, Louie Joseph Marmo, in Phoenix, Arizona on September 11, 1943, after various jobs and traveling through the western part of the United States while he was in the Army.

They settled on a farm west of South Sioux where they raised their family of six children: Linda, Christine, Jill, Brent, Roxie, and Denise. Over the years, besides being a full-time mother, she worked various bookkeeping jobs and was involved in the local Credit Women’s Association.

Carol is survived by her daughter–Jill (Wayne) McCormick of Columbus, NE, son–Brent (Marilyn) Marmo of Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren Mark (Shannon) Modlin, Wendy (Matt) Harder Modlin, Eric (Lori) Birney, Nick Birney, Hailey (Ryan) Miloni, Mitch (Stacy) McCormick, Kelsey (Wes) Zach, Miles (Miranda) Marmo, Gianni Marmo, Matt (Tracy) Dennis, Katie (Clayton) Kimbrew; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Tebben and all the other special friends and family who complete her rich life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louie (1990): her parents, 2 sisters, a brother, 4 daughters, Linda Modlin, Christine Birney, Roxie Marmo, and Denise Dennis and her granddaughter, Melinda Badura.
