Carol Jean Grant, 79 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital. Abiding by Carol’s wishes cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home of South Sioux City, Nebraska is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carol Jean was born to Gerald and Darlene (Lamson) Cain on September 22, 1946, in Macy, Nebraska and was raised in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Carol Jean was a woman of remarkable strength, kindness and wit. She was hard-working, smart, and funny with a fun sense of humor that brought lots of laughter. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, sewing, crocheting and cooking - sharing her talents and love with everyone around her.

She loved all her family deeply! She was truly loved and adored by many who will miss her dearly. Carol Jean’s love, wisdom and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Jerry (Lisa), Michelle (Mike), Donnie (Julie), and Jason (Tammie); brother, Jim Cain; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, granddaughter, and her beloved dog, Ziggy.

Though Carol Jean is no longer with us, we remember her, we honor her, and we carry her in our hearts always.
