Candy Lynn Stevenson of Dakota City, NE, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023.  There will be a visitation with the family  Monday, October 2, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.  Interment will be following the Visitation. 

Candy was born on July 29, 1955 in Alexandria, Indiana to John and Patricia Doyle. She graduated from high school. Candy Lynn married Stevie Stevenson on October 3, 1988.  To this union her Stephanie was born and Stevie became stepdad to Consuola.

Indiana remained home before moving to Nebraska with her Husband Stevie and daughter Consuola. She was a CNA for most of her life where she cared for others.  She enjoyed it immensely and it was not only a career but a calling, where her clients became both friends and family.

She was a member of Cornerstone Church and also a member of the Auxiliary Fire Department for years.  Her husband was a volunteer firefighter during that time for Dakota City Fire & Rescue. 

Candy is survived by her husband of 34 years, Stevie, daughters Consuola and Stepanie, Sons-in-laws Paul and Todd, honorary son Richard, granddaughter Ashlee and grandson Corey, her grandsons: John, Abraham & Ivan and great grandchildren, Giovanni, Aiyana and Gracelynn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Patricia Jean, her brothers, Johnny and Jamie, her best friend, Patricia Adair and great granddaughter, Maya.

She enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing and being outside in general. She was an avid knitter and reader and was a loving caring, easy to talk to wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
