Obituary

Bruce Todd Kramer, 68, of Hinton, IA passed away on October 27, 2020.

Bruce was born in Sioux Falls, SD to Earl and Letha Kramer. The family moved to Hinton, IA when Bruce was 10. He attended Hinton School and was involved in 4H showing prize sheep and riding horses.

Bruce graduated from Hinton in 1970, attended college in Fort Dodge and later Florida where he enjoyed classes in marine biology.

He returned to Iowa where he owned and operated Kramer Construction until he returned to school to pursue his nursing degree.

As a nurse, Bruce worked in the Emergency Room and later as a flight nurse. Bruce decided to further his education and returned to school at the University of North Dakota Physician Assistant Program in Grand Forks, ND, graduating in 1994. Bruce began his Physician Assistant career in Family Practice with Dr. Paul Fee, and later enjoyed Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

Bruce was an active individual who volunteered as a Hinton School Board Member and coached soccer teams.

His passions included bow hunting, cruising in his ’65 GTO and watching Iowa boys basketball games.

Friends and family remembered him as a kind individual, active in the local community.

Bruce passed away during the peak of Covid Shutdown. His family appreciated the kind words received during that time.

Bruce’s final wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes scattered at his favorite hunting spot.

Bruce is survived by his wife Linda, son Steven, daughter Dylan (Xavier Robles), and grandsons Alden and Tomás.

He is also survived by sisters Janet Leonard, Karen Mattson, and brother Barry Kramer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Letha, brother Lowell, sister Sandy and brother-in-laws Matt and Ronald Mattson.
