Brian Robert Schneiders, 69, of Sioux City, Iowa, died Thursday April 18, 2024 at Mercy One Hospital following a brief illness.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The visitation is Wednesday, April 24 from 6-7 pm with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on Stone Park Boulevard.
Brian was born November 12, 1954 in Sioux City, the fifth child of Robert and Mary “Jean” (Lang) Schneiders. He attended St. Boniface School and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1973. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Boniface Church. Brian lived in Primghar, Sioux City and South Sioux City.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers. The banks of the Missouri River were a favorite “playground.” He liked cars, motorcycles and music. He loved a cold Coke and candy bar. Brian will be remembered for his kind and generous nature.
He is survived by six sisters; Nancy (Craig) Brubaker of Sioux City, Carol (Frank) Newell of Lincoln, NE, Teresa (Mark) Honer of Shawnee, KS, Ann (Greg) Carr of Vinita, OK, Jean Schneiders of Sioux City and Sara Schneiders of Cedar Rapids, IA; five brothers; Paul (Dana) of Dixon, NE, Jon (Rosina) of Sioux City, Matt (Lori) of Arlington, WA, Robert (Sharron) of Melbourne, Australia, Tom (Courtney) of Des Moines, IA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mark and Leo, sister Mary Gillis, and nephew Luke Schneiders.
