Brad R. Verzani

Brad R. Verzani, 66 of Ponca passed away Monday, September 25, 2023. A funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Ponca Public School. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the school. Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 9, 2023 at South Creek Cemetery.

Brad was born the son of Frank and Beverly (Addison) Verzani on May 6, 1957. He graduated from Ponca High School and attended Northeast Community College. Brad owned and operated Verzani Trucking and Rivertime Resort.

He enjoyed spending time at his river place boating. He was a master scuba diver and liked to travel in the winter with friends to warm places when he wasn’t busy working and operating his heavy equipment doing projects. He looked forward to his weekly night with his granddaughter Elizabeth, having wings or watching football.

Brad is survived by his children, Justin Verzani of Ponca, Jonathon Verzani of Allen, BJ Verzani of Dakota City, Dawn (Brian) Borchers of Sioux City, and Jason (Shelly) Luckel of Greenville, PA; sisters, Joann (David) Hogan of Ponca and Jean (Mike) Kanawyer of Canyon Country, CA; brother, Richard (Paula) Verzani of Dakota Dunes; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Julie Kay in a tragic plane crash in 1970.
