Obituary

In Loving Memory of Bouaphanh “Aih” Vixaythong

Aih Vixaythong age 50 passed away on 4/13/2026. Born in Laos, he made the life-changing journey to the United States in 1987. He went to north High school where he spent his days on the field playing football and soccer.

To know Aih was to know a man of huge appetite—in every sense of the word. He truly loved to eat.

In his younger years, he was a Honda legend in his brother’s eyes. He was known for his "sooped-up" Hondas: a Honda Accord with a ginormous wing, and a bright orange Civic hatchback with custom solenoid doors that popped open at the touch of a button. To his brother, who looked up to him immensely, those cars weren't just cars, they were a symbol of his brother's cool, creative spirit.

He had sound systems that rumbled the neighborhood and you could always catch him bumping to Stevie B, his favorite 80s soft rock, or the traditional sounds of Lao music, keeping his heritage close to his heart.

His greatest adventures were the fishing trips he took with his wife, Joy Bannavong. The fishing was often just an excuse; what truly mattered to him was being by Joy’s side.

Above all, Aih was a man of deep devotion. He loved his mother and grandkids profoundly and spent his life trying his absolute best to be there for them. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, a lot of empty plates, and a family that will miss him so much.
