Bonnie Lea Porsch, 89, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at her residence at Northern Hills in Sioux City, IA.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wesley Global Methodist Church, 3700 Indian Hills Drive, Sioux City, IA 51104. This will be followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the same church. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born November 11, 1936, in Norfolk, NE to Given R. and Marjorie (Bowers) Ives. She grew up in Sioux City, IA, where she graduated from Leeds High School with the class of 1955. Two years later, on May 12, 1957, she married the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Porsch, in a ceremony at Wesley United Methodist Church. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, blessed with two sons, Bradley and Randy.

Her early years included working a couple of different jobs before becoming a stay-at-home mom until her sons were older. Later, Bonnie contributed her time and care working in the lunchroom at Sioux City schools for about ten years.

Bonnie and Tom shared a passion for adventure, enjoying camping, snowmobiling, and especially traveling. The couple explored all 50 states and went to many destinations around the world. For 20 years, they wintered in Mesa, AZ, and for nearly 30 years, they spent their summers at Spirit Lake and Okoboji, spending time together and with their beautiful family. She found joy in gardening alongside Tom and had a particular fondness for listening to country music. She was a dedicated fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers.

Those who knew her will remember her as a great cook. Bonnie was always put together and styled, with her hair done and a love for socializing. She was a dedicated member of Wesley Global Methodist Church where she loved her church family. Her lifelong dedication to her faith remained strong throughout her life until the very end.

Bonnie is survived by her son Randy; her grandsons: Chad (Alicia) and Eric (Alicia); great-grandchildren Brayden and Peyton, Sophia, Cecilia, Charles, Eloise, and Clara; and her sister Carol Junck. Additionally, she is survived by her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Given R. and Marjorie (Bowers) Ives; her husband, Thomas “Tom”; son Bradley “Brad”; daughter-in-law Lisa; twin sister Connie Calhoun; and brothers-in-law Thomas Calhoun and Roland Junck.
