Bonnie R. Brown

Bonnie R. Brown, 97 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Sunrise Retirement Community following a brief illness.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday with a Rosary Service at 10:30 Wednesday at the funeral home. Bonnie was born October 19, 1925 in Jackson, NE; she was the daughter of Harry and Rose (Mackey) Reed.  Bonnie graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy in 1943 and received her teacher’s certificate from Wayne State College.

While working at Sears, Bonnie met Donald L. Brown and they were married August 10, 1950 in Sioux City. Donald passed away on June 21, 2011 in Sioux City.

Bonnie worked for St. Joseph Hospital and at Wincharger for a few years and then was a homemaker taking care of her children. Years ago, she was active in St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Grade School while the kids were in school. Bonnie enjoyed shopping, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Linda Langseth (William) of South Sioux City, NE, Terry Brown (Vicki) of Sioux City and David Brown (Lynn) of Dakota Dunes, SD; her brother: Jim Reed (Shirrel) of Sioux City; 4 grandchildren: Heather Leininger (Steve), Don Langseth (Missy), Kerri Brown-Struthers (Marty) and Alyse Brown; 5 great grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald and 9 brothers and sisters: Eva, Pearl, Mark, Claude, Leo, Marvin, Charlie, Gene and Monica.
