Bonnie R. Blanford, 72, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Dakota City Cemetery.
Bonnie was born the daughter of Fred and Helen (Matney) Moore, Sr. on September 8, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended South Sioux City schools. Bonnie married Dan G. “Bompa” Blanford on November 20, 1965 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Dan passed away in 2013.
Bonnie worked in sales for Specialty Merchandise Corporation for several years.
She loved rummaging, spending time with family, having game night, playing computer games, and camping.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Debbie (Robert Kent) Young, Dawn (Shane) Soule, and Dana (Michael) Lawhead; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Thompson, DJ Blanford, Brandy (Cesar Flores) Soule, and Brandon Soule; great-grandchildren, Mya, Michael, Aiden, Asher, Greyson, Ashlyn, and Isabel; sisters, Betty (John) Huls and Patty (Mike) Goodrich; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dan “Bompa”, brothers, Fred Jr. and Donald Moore; grandson, Brady Soule; and step-father, Paul Bahrenfuss.
