Bonnie C. Achord

November 30, 1931 — February 14, 2021

Bonnie C. Achord, 89 of Sioux City, joined her Savior in heaven Sunday, February 14, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30am Friday, February 19th at Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds which is at 4400 Central Street, Sioux City, IA.  A short visitation will precede the service at 10am at the church with a luncheon to follow.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family.  Livestream of the service can be viewed on the Calvary Lutheran Church Website.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com

     Bonnie was born in Sioux City on November 30, 1931 and was united in marriage to Cecil Achord (deceased) on September 13, 1953 in Yuma, AZ.  She was a long-time member of Calvary Lutheran Church.   Bonnie worked in the medical field in Sioux City for over 30 years and was later a Senior Companion for the Center for Siouxland.  She was an animal lover.  She loved her dogs. She was also a wonderful poem writer of which many of her poems were published in the “Treasured Poems of America” books.  She cherished her only grandchild, Jacob!

Those left to cherish her memory includes her daughter Patti Marvin of Sioux City, IA; and her grandson Jacob Mebius of Sioux City, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Viola Freed, her brother Eugene Freed, and her sister Marilyn Howe.
