Billy Joe Fletcher, 64 of Kingsley, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, peacefully at home, comforted by family after a long battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the River Hills Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska with Pastor Kevin Roach officiating. Interment will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the church. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Billy was born on December 3, 1961, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Charles V. Fletcher and Norma J. Bowman. Billy was raised in Siouxland, and following his high school education, worked various jobs including packing houses, but enjoyed most his custodial work at several schools in Sioux City while being employed by the Sioux City Public Schools. Billy was talented in various skills, including his woodworking abilities and painting. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and was often referred to as a “Jack-of-all-trades”.
Billy is survived by his mother Norma Bowman of Kingsley, Iowa; sons Dustin (Mellissa) of Sioux City, Billy, Jr. (Kendra) of Sioux City, and Charlie (Miranda) of Ceresco, Nebraska; daughters Jessica (Dan) of Sioux City, and Anna of Omaha; five grandchildren Alec, Addy, Rose, Dawson, and Coral; brother Bobby (Bridget) Fletcher of Kingsley, Iowa; nephew Matthew, and niece Miranda.
Billy was preceded in death by his father Charles, grandparents Earl Bowman and Liberty Halstead, Robert Fletcher and Nellie Higginbathan, along with numerous aunts and uncles.
