Bev was born to Toots and Harry Cooper on October 15, 1938 in Lyons, Kansas. She grew up in Great Bend, Kansas, starting first grade at Morrison Grade School and graduating in 1956 from Great Bend High School. Bev attended Emporia State University for one year where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Bev was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sioux City and served on various committees.
Bev married Larry Burns on August 29, 1959, and they had two children, Darrin and Sally. Larry passed away November 29, 1981. On June 25, 1983, Bev married Warren Tullis and added an extended family, Brad and Angie. After their marriage, they lived in Florida for eight years but returned to South Sioux City in 1992.
Bev re-joined Crary Huff Law Firm where she had previously worked for 6 years and was employed at the Law firm until her retirement in 2007. That retirement didn’t last long as she went to work for Jack and Sandy Ehrich of Ehrich Law Office in South Sioux City in 2011, retiring for a second time in November of 2016. However, she continued to work for Jack and Sandy, helping out whenever they called for another four years (Note: from Bev: Jack and Sandy, you are the best, love you both!).
Bev is survived by her son Darrin (DeeDee) Burns; daughter Sally (Kevin) Banks; step-son Brad (Tara) Tullis; step-daughter Angie (Don) Wilwerding; brother Gary (Marilyn) Cooper; brother-in-law Bill Dickinson; nieces Jana Dickinson, Kim Best, and Keri Dillie; nephew Brent Cooper; 11 grandchildren; and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband Warren, who passed away on October 4, 2016, her first husband, her parents, her sister-in-law Marilyn Dickinson, her nephew Tod Dickinson, her grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Thank you to all of you who kept Bev in your thoughts and prayers. She was blessed to have many special friends and she loved you all.
