Betty Louise (Reilly) Klanderud, 94 of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Palm Regency Assisted Living under Hospice Care, and comforted by her daughters and granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, Nebraska with Father Mark Bridgeman as Celebrant. Abiding by family wishes, cremation will follow and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation, with family present, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning at the church. Continued fellowship and a meal will follow Mass at the Providence Hall adjacent to the church in Jackson. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born April 16, 1932, in Coleridge, Nebraska, to Herman and Anna Lensing. She graduated from Coleridge High, where she met Joe Reilly. They married on September 28, 1950. Shortly after, they moved to Sioux City and started a family of six kids. Their lives took them next to Phoenix, Arizona, for ten years and then back to South Sioux City.

Joe passed in 1985. Betty married Kenneth Klanderud in 2000. Betty and Ken had eight years together and enjoyed the last four years wintering in Arizona.

Betty was full of life, and family was at the heart of it. She loved all of her travel adventures, visiting her children and grandchildren all over the states. She loved playing games and any kind of cards—Bridge was her favorite.

She loved to dance and passed that love down to her children. Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the love and joy she brought into our lives.

Betty is survived by daughter Deb Schwegler, daughter Karen (Jerry) Iler, Kevin (Sharon) Reilly, Chris (Jim) Knudson, daughters-in-law Luanne and Cindy, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe; second husband Kenneth; her sons Bill and Tom; and her sisters Mary Ann (Jack) and Lori (Singer).
