She and her sister Virginia grew up in the family home built by their grandfather, Simon Taylor. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1942 and went on to attend college at: Lockyear Business College (Evansville, Indiana), Western Girls School (Oxford, Ohio), Indiana State (Tarahaute, Indiana) and graduated from Northwestern University (Chicago) in 1947 with a degree in radio and speech.

They married September 3, 1947 on the campus of Northwestern University. They subsequently lived in Iowa City, Iowa where Rex attended U of I Dental School and then onto Indianapolis, Indiana for Oral Surgery Residency. They had 3 children: Jennifer, Teresa, and Rex, III.
They moved to Waterloo, Iowa to join the Foster Oral Surgery practice with Rex Foster Sr. and George Foster. They were active members of the First Presbyterian Church, both loving to sing in the choir. She was a member of Junior League and started her passion for playing golf.
Her life was filled with a love for animals, she raised and showed Tennessee Walking horses and Persian cats while sharing her home with Great Danes and other numerous dogs.
With retirement, they moved to Diamondhead, Mississippi and built a new home in 1979. They became members of the Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught classes.
At the age of 63, she was the captain of the women’s tennis team from Diamondhead which won the league championship in the State Tournament in Jackson, Mississippi. She also was a competitive Bridge player.
Her husband Rex died in 1994. She later reunited, after 55 years, with a high school sweetheart, Sid Miller from Arizona and they married in 2000. They lived in Diamondhead, Ms. and later divorced. They remained friends, as he lived close by in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi until he tragically died in hurricane Katrina.
She stayed in her home in Mississippi until 2018. She then moved to Sioux City, Iowa to be close to family and to enjoy Iowa winters and Iowa Football games while always remaining a New Orleans Saints fan.
