Barbara was born on August 7, 1945 in Sioux City, to Richard “Stan” and Evelyn (Hay) Juzek. She attended school in Leeds through her junior year, and graduated her senior year from Riverside High School in 1963. On September 7, 1963 she married Lloyd Diede in Elk Point, South Dakota. To this union, two children were born: Valerie and Martin “Mike”.

Barbara worked for various companies including Wincharger, Zenith, and IBP, where she worked from 1980-1996 until retirement. Following retirement, Barbara and Lloyd moved from Sioux City to rural Hinton where they have lived since 1998.

In her free time, Barbara spent time cross stitching, traveling to the family’s cabin in northern Minnesota where she spent many hours fishing, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball and football games. She enjoyed many hockey trips, attending family gatherings, and spending time with her beloved cats.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Hospice of St. Croix.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Diede; daughter, Valerie Peterson; son, Martin “Mike” Diede; grandchildren: Kyle Eyer (Lindsay), Nathan Eyer (Cari), Michael Diede (Regan), Matthew Diede (Kimberly), Martin Williams, and Marquetta Williams; 17 great-grandchildren; and her extremely special friends: Ann Brodersen, Colleen White, and Lynette Beerman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of St. Croix, and Barbara’s nurse Whitney, for their loving care.
