Barbara E. "Barb" Dennison

   Barbara E. “Barb” Dennison, 90, of Westfield, Iowa passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at her residence. Per Barb’s wishes, there will be no public services. Her family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

   Barb was born to Byrel and Evelyn (Matteson) Neal on the family farm near Akron, Iowa, on January 22, 1934. She moved with her family to Westfield, Iowa, when she was a young child and attended school there. After graduating from high school in 1952, she worked in Sioux City for several years.

   Barb married Tom Dennison on October 30, 1954 at St. Catherine’s Church in Westfield. The pair was blessed with seven children. Tom passed away in June of 2022.

   Besides raising her family, Barb enjoyed taking care of her flowers, gardening, and animals, especially birds. She loved attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren as they were growing up.

   Survivors include her children: Deanna (Roger) Heyl of Elk Point, SD, Kathryn (Kirk) Banks of Westfield, IA, Bill (Janet) Dennison of Westfield, IA, and John (Tanya) Dennison of Westfield, IA; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (Gaylord) Lahr of Westfield, IA.

   She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Tom; sons: Tom Dennison, Mike Dennison, and Pat Dennison; her parents; a brother, Andy Neal; a sister, Jean Martin; and her in-laws: Ray and Blasé Dennison.
