Audrey Ann Dohma

Audrey Ann Dohma, 93, of Ponca, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 surrounded by her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ponca, Nebraska on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Audrey was born on November 12, 1931, in rural Ponca, Nebraska, the daughter of Earl Edgar “Ole” and Kathleen (Crombie) Bauman. She graduated from Ponca High School in 1949. Audrey married Donald Dohma on June 3, 1953. The couple lived their entire married life on the family farm near Ponca. Audrey continued to live there 16 years after Donald’s passing in 2009, for a total of 72 years.

Following high school, Audrey worked in the Dixon County Judge’s office for Judge Dean H. Ehle. She later worked in the County Treasurer’s Office, then moved on to the County Clerk’s Office. She was appointed County Clerk and served until 1987. From there, she moved to FSA Office where she worked until her retirement in 1995.

Audrey and Don wintered in Texas for many years, where they made many lasting friendships. She loved making ice cream for the grands and great-grands, and then the chocolate syrup container “Clanky” would make it around the table as each child topped their ice cream. The family also shared many special vacations in Okoboji, creating treasured memories.

On behalf of the Dohma family, she received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award in 2014; an honor she was very proud of.

Audrey loved dancing, playing cards with friends and family, and enjoyed all the grandkids and great grandkids many, many ball games.

Survivors include her children; Richard (Joni) Dohma, Susan Smith (Todd Masters), and Kevin Dohma (Julie Sydow); 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter-in-law, Kim Dohma; son-in-law, Doug Smith; parents, Earl & Kathleen Bauman; and in-laws, Henry and Mary Dohma.

Memorials will be directed at a later date.
