Arturo Topete Flores, 75, of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at a local hospital following a three-month battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Arturo was born on July 16, 1948 in Guachinango, Jalisco, Mexico, to Simon and Traniquilina (Flores) Topete. He grew up and attended school in Mexico before eventually moving to Sioux City in 1972.
He married Barbara Miller on May 23, 1975, and to this union two daughters were born: Tiffanie and Jenny. The couple divorced, but remained friends throughout the years. Arturo married Gloria Garcia in 1997.
Arturo worked for IBP/Tyson Foods from 1976-2009 until he retired.
In his free time, he enjoyed maintaining his yard and flowers, playing soccer, and going to family gatherings. He always loved being social with friends and family, and cherished the time he spent with those who were important to him. He and Gloria also traveled to Texas during the winter months, where they would spend time with her family and enjoy the warm weather.
He is survived by his daughters: Tiffanie (Matthew) McCann, and Jenny Gaspar; grandchildren: Drayton (Maribel), Breeya, Tyler, Israel, Cheli, Adrain, and Adelina; great-grandchildren: Yiovonni, Sindel, and Ace; and two brothers, Ramon and Calixto.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria; and several brothers and sisters.
