Arnold Joseph “Arnie” Richtermeier, 70, of Sioux City, IA passed away September 16, 2023 after a short illness.

Abiding by his wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial/celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) in Sioux City. Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Arnold J., the son of Cletus and Elizabeth (Uhl) Richtermeier, was born March 24, 1953 at Mapleton, IA. Arnie graduated from Heelan High School with the Class of 1971. He worked at IBP, Sioux Plating, Claeys Moving and Storage, and the City of Sioux City until his retirement. Arnie’s hobbies included detailing vehicles and growing and canning tomatoes. Above all, he enjoyed helping his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his special friend, Bobbi Vitek; one sister, Mary Schultz; three brothers: Ray and Donna Richtermeier, Leo and Candi Richtermeier, and Cletus Richtermeier and his friend Kevin Lammers; 9 nieces and nephews and their children: Sue and Dennis Boucher; Shelly and Palmer Barton and their children: Elizabeth and Cole; Steve and Terri Schultz and their children: Tyler, Brit and her children Logan, Cameron, and Jayden; Rachel and Joe Casper and their daughter, Micah; ReAnn and Cody Jaminet and their son, Max; Ryan and Riley Richtermeier and their children: Collins, Conrad, and Case; Heather and Jason Martinek and their children: Emma and Jonah; Hollie and Lance Jacobson and their daughter, Ashlynn; and Travis and Bretta Richtermeier and their children: Marley, Mallory, and Garrett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Elizabeth Richtermeier.

Honorary pallbearers for Arnie’s service will be his nieces and nephews.
