Ardie A. Arndt

Ardyce "Ardie" Albena (Spies) Arndt, 95 of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Sunrise Retirement Home, peacefully as she slept.  A Memorial Service will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with Reverend Beth Odor, of the Hinton United Methodist Church, officiating.  Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.  Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, August 10th at 11am.  

Ardie, daughter of William and Lenore (Rush) Spies, was born on April 5, 1928 in rural Merrill, Iowa. 

On July 19, 1947, Ardie married Don W. Arndt and to this union three children were born.

Ardie is survived by two daughters: Janie (Ken) Beaulieu of Dakota Dunes, SD and Rhonda (Doug) Kovarna of Hinton; four grandchildren: Tal Kovarna (Todd Plummer), K.C. (Jessica) Beaulieu, Wendi (Rob) Meister, and Matt Beaulieu; twelve great grandchildren: Megan (Zach) Vaske, Jaiden and Gage Beaulieu, Jacob, Addyson and Nate Beaulieu, Lauren and Carter Kovarna, and Andrew, Mackenzie, Madison and Bailey Meister; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don;  infant son, Thomas Don Arndt; and numerous siblings.
