Anthony T.C. Bonnewell, 52, affectionately known as Tony or “T.C.,” passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2025, at his residence in Sioux City, Iowa.
A celebration of life will be held on May 24, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 3127 Transit Ave, Sioux City. The service will be officiated by T.C.’s best friend, Rt. Rev. Chad M. Brown of Clifton, Arizona. An additional memorial gathering is being planned later in the year on T.C.’s birthday for those unable to attend the initial service.
Born on October 14, 1972, in Sioux City, T.C. was the son of Melvin and Georgia (Vreugdenhil) Bonnewell. A proud graduate of North High School’s Class of 1991, he attended Morningside College with a focus on Mass Communications before pausing his education to care for loved ones.
T.C. worked at several establishments across the Siouxland area, forming lasting connections with coworkers and customers alike. He spent many years at Pump n Pak before joining the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Sioux City. Health challenges later led him to leave that position; most recently, he was employed at Pizza Hut.
Gifted in mathematics and known for mimicking character voices from movies, T.C. brought joy to many through their creativity and humor. His hobbies included painting miniature figurines, photography, cooking imaginative meals, and playing video games with friends across the country. He also found great comfort in the companionship of his animals.
Though never married, T.C.’s life was enriched by chosen family and enduring friendships. He embraced Ambrosia (Axton) Dean as an adopted daughter and K.C. Clark as an adopted son, and shared close bonds with Joseph, Timmy, and Danielle.
T.C.'s passing follows those of his parents, brother Tim, uncle Eddie, and many other cherished loved ones.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and joy in remembering a life so richly lived.
