Annette H. Rasmussen

Sioux City

Annette H. Rasmussen, 83 of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

Annette was born the daughter of Darrell and Helen (Baker) Shaver on February 1, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School. Annette married Robert Rasmussen on June 4, 1960. They made their home in Sioux City. Annette worked in the Woodbury County Treasurer’s Office for 22 years until her retirement.  At which time, Annette volunteered her time at St. Luke’s gift store.

 

Annette was active in the Shriner's Wrecking Crew, she enjoyed her friends with the Yaya Girls and the Red Hat Club, and socializing at the senior center.  She was a wonderful, light-hearted person who most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was an avid animal lover, enjoyed traveling and shopping with friends, reading and line dancing to country music. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to instead make a donation in Annette's memory to the Siouxland Humane Society.

 

Annette is survived by her children, Ron (Lana) Rasmussen of Omaha, Teresa Rasmussen of Sioux City, and Kim Rasmussen of Sioux City; brother, Larry (Donna) Shaver of Sioux City; six grand-children Lindsey, Lindsey, Kristi, Jenny, Matt and Brandon, as well as five great-grandchildren.   

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
