Anna L. Lamaak

Anna L. Lamaak, 96, of Sioux City, IA, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2023 at a local hospital.  A funeral service will be held Friday, May 19^th at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Anna was born on June 17, 1926 in Sac County on a farm near Odebolt, IA to Herman and Martha (Palm) Werkmeister.  She was united in marriage to Norman Lamaak on August 28, 1948.  They moved to Sioux City in 1952.  Anna worked at Sioux Bee Honey for 38 years, retiring in July of 1991.  She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed doing yardwork, flower planting, playing bingo, going to lunch with her friends, and making small quilts and pillows for her grandkids.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Judy Goergen, Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Michael (Melissa) Goergen, Des Moines, IA, Julie (Mark) Jimmerson, Van Meter, IA, Jeremy (Jessica) DeVall, LeMars, IA; 9 great-grandchildren: Makaela, Kierra, Brayden, Austin, Nicholas, Ashley, Kristina, Devin, Kylie and Jazzmine; sister-in-law, Peggy Lamaak, Sioux City, IA; many nieces and nephews; good friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; son, Randy; sister, Alvina Lichtenberg; brother and sisters-in-law; and several half brothers and sisters.
