Angeline Irene Kilker, 99, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Angeline was born on September 22, 1923 to Henry F. and Anna K. (Paben) Meints at home near Beatrice, Nebraska. She was baptized October 14, 1923 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pickrell, Nebraska. She was later confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice on April 10, 1938.
She attended grade school in Rockford, and went on to attend middle and high school in Beatrice.
Her family moved to Arkansas and then to Oklahoma, where she met her future husband Lloyd Kilker, who was in the service. The two were married on February 28, 1944, and shared 64 years together before Lloyd passed away in 2008. To this union, two sons were born.
Angeline was a waitress for a few years, and then went on to work for St. Luke’s Hospital in the food service department for 22 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Charity Circle for several years. Within the church, she was a longtime funeral luncheon aide. She also handmade many quilts that were used on church missions.
Survivors include her two sons: Gary Kilker and John (Gail) Kilker; three grandchildren: Tabitha Walker, Christina Kilker and Scott (Katie) Kilker; four great-grandchildren: Morgan Walker, Evan Walker, Scarlett Kilker, and Joshua Kilker; former daughters-in-law, Glenda and Suzanne; and several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents; a sister, Grace Koch and her husband George; and a brother, Brunie Meints and his wife, Arlene.
