Amber M. Schmitz

  Amber M. Schmitz, 40, of South Sioux City, Nebraska died on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at home under the loving care of her family. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Mohr & Becker Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. A Rosary will begin at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at McCook Cemetery in North Sioux City, South Dakota.   Amber was born on Thursday, June 22, 1983 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Kenneth and Peggy (Nielsen) Schmitz. She grew up in South Sioux City. She graduated from South Sioux City High School. Amber worked for Kahills Chophouse for several years as a server and then worked at Texas Roadhouse for 12 years.

  Amber reacquainted high school friend Michael McIntyre and the couple joined families and lived in South Sioux City.

  She was a former member at Glad Tidings Lighthouse Church.

  Survivors include her children: Marie (17), Bella (11), and Nicholas (2); her life partner, Michael McIntyre; parents: Kenneth and Peggy (Nielsen) Schmitz; sisters: Cari Schmitz (Mendoza) and her husband Angel of Dakota City, and Jill Schmitz of South Sioux City.

  She was preceded in death by her grandparents: George and Bonita Schmitz, and Delmar and Eleanor Nielsen.
