El velorio será de las 5:00 p.m. hasta el 7:00 p. m. el jueves 7 de septiembre. El servicio de oración será a las 7:00 p. m. en la funeraria Meyer Brothers Morningside Sioux City.
Amelia es hija de Nicolás y Herminia (Vargas) Ojeda, nacida el 8 de febrero de 1953, México. Creció y asistió al colegio de San Nicolás de los Agustinos.
Durante su adolescencia, Amelia cuidó a sus hermanos como segunda mamá. Se casó con Roberto Hernández en México y en 1980 se mudaron a California y tuvieron tres hijos. Amelia siempre fue muy trabajadora y trabajó durante muchos años en los campos de California. Roberto falleció en 2002.
En 2014, Amelia y su familia se mudaron al área de Siouxland.
Durante esa época, Amalia disfrutaba de la cocina y amaba a los animales. Sobre todo, disfrutaba pasar tiempo en familia, y siempre compartía con sus nietos.
Le sobreviven sus tres hijos: Roberto Hernandez Jr. de Sioux City, Andrés Hernadez (Maria Flores y Orlando Hernadez de Dakota City, NE.
Trece nietos: Roberto, Yohana, Tiffany, Eregon, Evelyn, Sebastian, Danny, Andrea, William, Alexander, Leslie, Khloe y Joseph: Bisnieto Ricardo: Once hermanos: Carolina, Chela, Cristina, Guillermo, Herminia, Rosario, Merta, Silvia, Nicolás, Fernando y Lelin y muchos familiares y amigos.
Su esposo y sus padres fallecieron antes que ella.
Amalia Ojeda Hernandez, 70, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will take place in Mexico. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.
Amalia, the daughter of Nicolas and Herminia (Vargas) Ojeda, was born February 8, 1953, in Mexico. She grew up and attended school in San Nicolas de los Agustinos. During her teenage years, Amalia stayed home and became a second mother to her siblings. She was united in marriage to Roberto Hernandez in Mexico, and they moved to California in 1980. While living in California, they were blessed with three sons. Amalia was a hard worker who worked for many years in the fields. Roberto passed away in 2002. In 2014, Amalia along with her family moved to the Siouxland area.
Throughout the years, Amalia enjoyed cooking and loved animals. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with family, and she cherished her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons: Robert Hernandez Jr. of Sioux City, Andres Hernandez (Maria Flores) of Sioux City, and Orlando Hernandez of Dakota City, NE; thirteen grandchildren: Robert, Yohana, Tiffany, Eregon, Evelyn, Sabestian, Danny, Andrea, William, Alexander, Leslie, Khloe, and Joseph; one great grandson, Ricardo; eleven siblings: Carolina, Chela, Cristina, Guillermo, Herminia, Rosario, Merta, Silvia, Nicolas, Fernando, and Lelin; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
