Alice (Kott) Sailors

Alice (Kott) Sailors passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at St. Thomas Orthodox Church with Father Kevin Kirwan officiating.  Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 5:30 P.M. and a Trisagion Service at 6:00 P.M. at the church.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Alice was born in Sioux City, the daughter of Daniel and Agnes (Budkabich) Kott.  She taught in school in Sioux City, Iowa for 30 plus years, beginning her career in George, Iowa, the returning home to take care of her ailing mother.  She was the caretaker for the whole family.  Alice attended many different colleges, finishing her degree in Colorado.  She was a member of NEA, ISEA, SCEA, at St. Thomas Orthodox Church.

Survivors include her beloved nieces Susie Thomas and Dana Roberts, and longtime friend Betty VanWyk.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Agnes Kott, sister Olga Stratton, beloved niece Kathy Stratton, sister Helen Keller, and brothers Al and Joe Kott.
