John Lee Anderson

John Lee Anderson, 57 of Sioux City, IA passed away Friday, March 8, 2009 in a local hospital after loosing a battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, 822 Jennings St., with Rev. Michael Eckley of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Winnebago, NE officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday with a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. and the family present 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. John was born December 26, 1951 in Sioux City the son of Harold Jack and Reva (Comfort) Anderson. He attended Washington Elementary School, East Middle School and graduated from East High School. He graduated from Wayne State College with a B.A. in Education.

On April 19, 1975 he was united in marriage to Rita M. Angerman in Sergeant Bluff, IA. He was employed in sales with Guarantee Roofing and Siding Co.

John was a man with charisma. He doted on his wife, sons, their spouses and grandchildren. He had a warm friendly smile that enabled him to be superb in sales. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons, father, brother Jim and numerous friends. He also loved playing cards and cribbage with his friends at The Office and surrounding towns.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Anderson; two sons, Christopher Anderson and his wife, Crystal and Matthew Anderson and his girlfriend, Brooke all of Sioux City; a brother, Jim Anderson of Sioux City; a sister, Jackie Caldwell of Mesquite, TX; five grandchildren, Trinity Rai, Chelsea Ray, Mason Lee, Skyler James and Gunner Lee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Randy Cottington, Monte Junck, Tim Langel, Doug Merrigan, Dean Pettit and Joe Tope. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hoing and James Ollie Madsen.
