SIOUX CITY -- Michael T. Baker, 38, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle collision.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 at First Assembly of God, with Pastor Al Weiss officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Michael was born Aug. 15, 1971, in Sioux City. He attended West and North High Schools in Sioux City. In 2009, Mike earned his masters of plumbing certificate after many years of local experience in the field. He also owned and operated Baker Home Improvement of Sioux City. Over the years, Mike worked for Stultz Plumbing and Heating Inc., Jordan Air Heating and Cooling, Langel's Plumbing in Le Mars, Iowa, and Morningside Plumbing.

Mike was married to Hilda Ordonez of Sioux City from October 1998 to April 2008. Mike was engaged to marry Amanda Berge of Sioux City in October of this year. Amanda is mother to Xander and Phoenix Meier, both of Sioux City.

Mike is survived by his beloved children, Donna Baker, 9, and Todd Baker, 8, both of Sioux City; his stepchildren, Belkis Lopez and Byron Ordonez, both of Sioux City; his parents, Constance (Bousquet) Privett of Sioux City, married to Dominique Privett, and Warren L. Baker, married to Karen (Klagge) Baker, formerly of Sioux City. Mike is also survived by his siblings, Christine McCalmont, Warren A. Baker, Stacy Gran and Kylee Privett, all of Sioux City, Kari Privett of Texas, Stephanie Privett, Allen Privett, Stacy Privett, James Privett, Aaron Privett, Valerie Privett and Cody Privett, all of Sioux City.

The children in Mike's life were his world and cherished every moment he could spend with them. He loved watching football with his kids and getting caught up in the game. Mike was a very loving, big-hearted and giving person. He loved to work hard and took much pride in everything he did. Mike was a talented carpenter and a master plumber. Mike would do anything for his friends and family. Mike loved to laugh and knew how to make others smile.

Pallbearers will be Leon Potter, Dave Pedersen, Tim Stabile, Kevin Gray, Joe Ienn and Jesse Moreno. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Baker and Xander Meier.
