Yefim M. Belkin, 87, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at a local hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Congregation Beth Shalom, with Rabbi Hillel "Guy" Greene officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Yefim was born June 3, 1919, in Minsk, Belorussia, the son of Max and Revekah Belkin. He was a World War II veteran.
Yefim married Sarra L. Rubinshtyn in April of 1953 in Kokand, Soviet Union. He was a college electronics professor for over 40 years. In 1991, the couple immigrated to the U.S., settling in Sioux City.
He was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom.
Survivors include his wife, Sarra; two sons and their wives, Max and Svetlana Belkin of Orlando, Fla. and Michael and Anna Belkin of Sioux City; as well as two sisters; and five grandchildren.
