Clara Bell

SIOUX CITY -- Clara Bell, 93, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Countryside Senior Living.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Valerie Heller officiating. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Clara was born Sept. 3, 1915, on the family farm near Volga, S.D., the daughter of John and Emma (Van Derwhal) Wobbema.

She married Walter E. Bell on Feb. 9, 1946, in Ivanhoe, Minn. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1993.

She enjoyed craft group at church and participating in social activities and playing bingo with her friends at Fairmont Street Apartments. She was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Milford (Donna) Bell of Sioux City and Dennis (Barbara) Bell of Sioux City; four grandsons, Greg (Crystal) Bell, Russell Bell, Robert (Michelle) Bell and Wayne (Karen) Bell; a granddaughter, Lauri (Ken) Mitchell; two great-grandsons, Jordan and Evan Mitchell; three great-granddaughters, Beka, Aubree and Megan Bell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; seven sisters; five brothers; a stepson, Melvin; and a granddaughter, Melissa.

Pallbearers will be Greg Bell, Russell Bell, Robert Bell, Ken Mitchell, Jordan Mitchell and Evan Mitchell.
