Lorraine M. Boucher of Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave.
Lorraine was born in Gregory, S.D., the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Abbenhaus) Beckers. She grew up in Gregory and graduated from Gregory High School. She came to Sioux City at the age of 19 and attended Stewart's Beauty School.
She married Maurice Boucher on July 17, 1948, in Gregory, S.D.
She had been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 61 years. She loved to dance and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice of Sioux City; two daughters, Mary Donohue of Tempe, Ariz., and Ann and her husband, Ron Choquette of Sioux City; a son, Tom Boucher and his fiancee, Lori Coon of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers and their wives, Thomas and Franny Beckers of Baton Rouge, La., and Robert and Martha Beckers of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Margaret An Dooley of Gregory, S.D.; four grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas and Michelle Donohue and Melissa Choquette; and Lori Coon's two children, Breanna and Johnathan Coon, whom she considered her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Myron Dooley.
Pallbearers will be Ron Choquette, Nick Donohue, Dave Murphy, Michael Dooley, Bob Dooley and Dennis Boucher.
Memorials may be directed to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
