September 9, 1937 — June 20, 2009

Mark E. Cain, 74, of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday June 25th at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Matthew Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Logan Park Cemetery.

Mark was born on September 9, 1934, in Sioux City to John Milton and Frances (Milton) Cain. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School.

Mark enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954 and was stationed in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1956. He returned to Sioux City where he worked at several packing houses before he began his career in the sheet metal industry.

He loved to play golf, fish, and spend time with family and friends. He was a member of sheet metal union local #3. His 2nd love in life was golf, which he was looking forward to watching the U.S. Open this weekend.

Mark is survived by his soul mate, Patricia Freeman, 5 children, Jeff Cardwell, Jim Pederson, Julie Bell and fianc Shaun Sarff, Michele Pederson, Marcie Mathison and husband Bob all of Sioux City, 4 siblings, Wayne Cain and wife Alisha of California, Donna Stabile and husband Joe, Beverly Koson and husband John, and Gary Cain and Toni all of Sioux City, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
