SIOUX CITY -- Michael W. Carey, 60, of Sioux City died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Kingsley, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Michael was born May 20, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Wilfred and Ethel (McNamara) Carey. He lived in Sioux City until the age of four, then moved to Glenwood, Iowa. He moved back to Sioux City in 1987 and lived at Parkview Homes.
He enjoyed going on outings with other residents at Parkview Homes.
Survivors include two sisters, Michelle Franco of Fort Mohave, Ariz., and Patti and her husband, Robert Baczwaski of Sioux City; nine nieces and nephews, Kimberly Oehlerking, Kelley Kosters, Kerchelle Fey, Kevin Franco, Keith Franco, Kirk Franco, John Baczwaski, Ben Baczwaski and Carey Baczwaski; and grandnieces and grandnephews, Andrew Oehlerking, Alec Oehlerking, Kaden Kosters, Brenden Kosters and Zach Fey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
