Patricia Jean Conley

Jean Conley, 76, of Sioux City died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Charles Bencken and Deacon Pat Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Church Columbarium. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Born Dec. 1, 1932, in Sioux City, to Dan J. and Mary "Helen" (Brown) Conley, Jean graduated from Central High School in 1951. She then attended Briar Cliff College for two years.

She was married to Jerry Coppock for 30 years. She was a homemaker, while Jerry pursued his real estate career.

She volunteered as church secretary at Calvary Episcopal Church, then became the full-time secretary for St. Thomas Church. She was a great listener and had a real desire to help people. She enjoyed writing, traveling and reading and loved all animals. She delighted in her grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include her children, Debra Coppock and James Coppock and his wife, Ann of Sioux City; grandchildren, Kristin Coppock Gunia and her husband, Jacob of Kenosha, Wis., Megan Coppock and Emily Coppock of Sioux City; a great-grandchild, Jackson James Coppock; her sister, Joan Joens of Estes Park, Colo.; and a cousin, Karen Martin of Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Siouxland and St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
